Platform Introduction
PRIME Platform is a web application developed and maintained by PRIME that aids to help when it comes to data processing and data interpretation. It contains multiple features that have proven to be useful for different use cases, such as Visual Data Hub or Scheduler (for engineers), or Dashboards, Health Checks or Stories (for analysts).
This guide will walk you through basic concepts so that you can clearly understand where the power of the Platform comes from and how to best utilize it. It is recommended that the reader is logged in and follows the reading with actions.
In order to get a grasp of the whole structure, knowledge of high level entities that represent the Platform itself is necessary. It is best to explain some key concepts now for further clearance. An environment in Prime represents a client environment where:
It contains its own data storage, which, in our case it is Simple Storage Service (S3, offered by Amazon Web Services).
It contains its own Platform space where the content is isolated, meaning write and read access are strictly checked, therefore reading from and writing to other environments is prohibited, unless permissions are changed by the administrator.
